What we do

From a minor service to a full engine rebuild

Petrol or diesel, daily runner or weekend toy. Tell us what your car is doing and we'll tell you straight what it needs.

Servicing

Minor and major services for all makes and models. We check all fluids, reset the service indicator, stamp your service book and hand your car back with a mini valet.

VW & Audi TDI and GTI

Our speciality. We know these engines inside out, from the familiar 1.9 TDI to the Polo GTI, and they're a big part of what comes through our doors.

Timing chains

Timing chain replacements done properly and to specification, so you can drive without that worry in the back of your mind.

Engine rebuilds

When it's serious, we do the serious work. Ask our customers about their “heart (engine) transplant”.

Stage 1 remaps & downpipes

Stage 1 software, downpipes and EGR delete. One customer's car went “from limping mode into a powerful yet reliable daily runner.”

Diagnostics & repairs

Diagnostic scans, rough idle, knocking noises, suspension, wheel bearings and the rest. If it's not right, bring it in.

Our story

DeWet's workshop

Quin-Tech is DeWet's workshop. DeWet is a qualified petrol and diesel technician, and the way we work is simple: be honest with people about their cars, and get the job done right the first time. Those are the words our customers keep using about us, too.

Over the years we've become the place Cape Town's VW and Audi diesel and GTI owners trust with the big jobs: timing chains, full engine rebuilds and stage 1 setups. But we're just as happy doing your minor service on a Saturday morning.

DeWet still works on the cars himself, together with Shandre and the team, and our customers notice. As one put it: “DeWet!!! I'm so UPSET with myself for not finding you sooner.”

Do you only work on VW and Audi?

No. VW and Audi TDI and GTI engines are our speciality, but all makes and models are welcome, petrol and diesel.

How do I book my car in?

Call us on 068 195 2505 or send a WhatsApp to 071 410 2511 with your car's make, model and what it needs, and we'll find you a slot.

Will you stamp my service book?

Yes. We reset the service indicator and stamp your service book, and you'll get a list of the work we did.

Do you do timing chains and engine rebuilds?

Yes, and on VW and Audi TDI and GTI engines it's some of our most common work.

Do you do remaps?

Yes: stage 1 software, downpipes and EGR delete. Chat to us about your car and what you want out of it.

How much will it cost?

Every car and every job is different, so we quote per vehicle. Call or WhatsApp us with the details and we'll give you a quote.

Are you open on Saturdays?

Yes, from 08:00 to 12:30. During the week we're open 07:30 to 17:30. We're closed on Sundays.
